The Trial Of Waiting

Reading from the Book of Psalm 40:1-3

Psalm 40:1 I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. ² He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
³ And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord.

Waiting for God to help us is not easy, but David recieved four benefits from waiting:

1. God lifted him out of his despair,
2. God set his feet on solid ground,
3. God steadied him as he walked, and
4. God put a new song of praise in his mounth.

Often blessings cannot be received unless we go thought the trial of waiting.
