Reading from the Book of James 3:6-10
6 But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says:
“God opposes the proud
but shows favor to the humble.”
7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9 Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.
All human beings have evil tendencies, but James 4:6 teaches us that God will give us more and more grace to deal with these tendences. God gives grace to the humble, not the proud.
We have our own ideas about what we can accomplish, but often we think more highly of ourselves than we ought. We need humble attitudes, knowing that apart from God, we can do nothing. If you are planning your own way, trying to make things happen in the strength of your own flesh, then no doubt you will become frustrated. You've probably have said, "No matter what I do, nothing seems to work or go right!" Nothing will ever work until you learn to trust in God's grace.
Relax. Let God be God. Stop being so hard on yourself. Change is a process and it comes little by little. You are on your way to perfection, so enjoy the trip!

Father God, Thank You that the wisdom You give is first pure and undefiled, then peace-loving and courteous. Full of compassion and good fruits, free from doubt and sincere. Thank You, Lord for this road to peace You have put in front of me. That I may travel it day by day and enjoy the trip!
Amen
